What To Avoid When Renting A Bus?

Renting a charter bus or a mini bus can be a surefire way to turn your group or family trip into an outing of a lifetime. There are so many benefits to renting a bus for your trip that you cannot begin to understand until you actually get started. However, there are some pitfalls that you need to avoid and so we've assembled a brief guide for helping you to choose the right charter or mini bus for your trip and how you can make your trip the best possible.

The first thing you need to do when deciding where to rent a bus from is to do the necessary research on the different companies in your area. Make sure you check their websites, call them, and visit them in person if necessary to get an idea of the type of service they offer, at what rates, and what quality of vehicles. Some people will throw in hidden catches that you need to be aware of, so do your due diligence. My favorite place to check rates and other information is on the internet. If an agency does not have a website then I generally do not rent from them because I feel that any professional company should have a website.

Make sure that you visit the company in person, once you've decided, so that you can be sure of what type of bus you will get and so you can meet the driver if possible. The driver's personality can make a huge difference when going on long trips, so make sure your drivers isn't going to kill the mood with their bad mood or lame rules. You also want to physically inspect the bus for quality control and to make sure it looks and smells clean.

Lastly, don't forget to get a bus with a bathroom! This can be a huge benefit for long trips and can save you tons of time in the process. It isn't fun to have to stop the bus for bathroom breaks, especially if you are the only one that has to go, so make sure your bus has a bathroom if possible. Also, make sure that you know the bus rules and that they won't get in the way of your fun. Some buses only go a certain distance per day or don't allow alcohol. Some might not have TV's or Music systems, so make sure you know what you are getting beforehand.

Renting a bus can be a great time and I highly recommend giving it a try for your next long adventure. However, make sure that you do your research and know what you are getting into before you spend the money. You can't get all your money back once you've given it up, so make sure you are comfortable with your decision by doing all the necessary research beforehand. Not only can this save you a lot of heartache, but it can also make the difference between a mediocre trip and a great trip that you will never forget.
